Animals always get a bad rap

Monday, May 15th, 2006

Why is it that when man goes looking for food it’s considered “hunting” and called “sport”, but when an alligator goes looking for food it’s called - and I quote - “a savage attack“.

How come there’s never a headline that reads, “Man savagely attacks deer!” ?

Don’t tell the wife…

I have been watching too many Ronaldinho videos lately that I have become a huge fan. If you don’t know who Ronaldinho is, don’t feel bad, it just means you are an American. Ronaldinho is the greatest footballer in the world - for you Americans, that translates to greatest soccer player in the world. He plays for FC Barcelona and the Brazil national team.

Well I couldn’t help myself and just bought an autographed national team jersey off of eBay, sweet!

“In a real sense all life is inter-related. All persons are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be, and you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be.” - MLK

The 3 greatest albums of all time…

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Forget that my iPod is currently holding over 2000 songs. If you were stuck on an island with a cd player and only 3 cds, which 3 cds would you want them to be?

for me:
3. Willie Nelson: Greatest Hits (& Some That Will Be) - Willie can get you through a lot.
2. Jimmy Buffett: Songs You Know by Heart - Hey, you are on an island, put on some Buffett and now it’s a party
1. Bob Marley: Exodus - Well simply the greatest album of all time!

At least 92 killed in Iraq suicide bombings

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

I once held the belief that people are pretty much the same no matter where you go - that we all pretty much just want the same things out of life; the simple things: like enjoying a nice dinner out with friends, going to the park with with your son or daughter and throwing the ball around, or kicking it, if that’s your thing. Pretty much just laughing and enjoying the passing of time. But, I’m not so sure of that anymore… I don’t know what brings a person to the point in life where you say, “ok I’ll strap this bomb to myself and then detonate it killing hundreds of innocent people.” I don’t get this at all… and how does this help whatever cause you think you are furthering… it’s just sad.

Perhaps things would be better if more people listened to Willie Nelson…
