Mat Kearney making waves.

Monday, July 24th, 2006

It’s been almost a year since I blogged about a talented new artist named Mat Kearney. He was relatively unheard of at the time. I only heard of him because a buddy of mine who caught him live gave me his cd ‘Bullet’ and said you should listen to this.

So I was very excited to hear him on KBCO this morning, a popular radio station in Denver. I then noticed he will be opening for the John Mayer/Sheryl Crow show. That’s great, I would say he’s well on his way to making it. If he is in your town. Go see him.

Come clean with it…

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

You know there are songs that you sing in the car at the top of your lungs that you won’t admit to. Well, now is your time to come clean. You will feel better to admit to it and get it off your chest.

What are those songs that you turn up the volume and sing at the top of your lungs?

for me (…quick look over the shoulder to make sure no one is watching):

  1. Journey - Faithfully (come on, you know you sing this one too)
  2. ABBA - Take A Chance On Me (It’s not my fault, my wife is Swedish)
  3. John Mellencamp - Jack And Diane (God I love this song, I was 10 when it came out and couldn’t stop singing it then)
  4. John Denver - Rocky Mountain High (This should be Colorado’s state song)

Syd Barrett, Founder of Pink Floyd, Dies

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

A sad day today. Syd Barrett, the troubled genius who co-founded Pink Floyd but spent his last years in reclusive anonymity, has died.

Barrett co-founded Pink Floyd in 1965 with Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Rick Wright, and wrote many of the band’s early songs.

Barrett eventually was replaced by Gilmour on guitars and Gilmour then moved on to also replace Waters on vocals.

Well thanks Syd for getting one of my all time favorite bands together, rest in peace.

“every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way the time is gone the song is over, thought i’d something more to say”

webPod Nano, Now Available!

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

US I have finally finished the webPod nano version. Now I would like to create a WordPress plugin out of it. I’m not much of a PHP programmer, so if you would like to help me, please say so.

UPDATE:
I have made a black version of it now too, but I still need to make it into a parameter so you can decide whether to use the white version of the black vesion.

Dismal US football (soccer) performance

Monday, June 12th, 2006

What a completely dreadful performance by the US. I think I saw only two decent shots on goal the entire game for the US and probably the same number of corners. Pitiful…

Beasley and McBride had better pick it up!

So in an effort to try and spur the team on here’s the Olé! song

IZ: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Friday, March 24th, 2006

Somewhere Over the Rainbow has to be one of the most covered songs, but this version by IZ may be the best of them all.
