They just come with too much crap pre-installed. It's cheaper to just build it yourself from Newegg. You also then have a virgin computer, nothing on it that you didn't put there yourself.... Dell especially makes it a pain to stop some of their own applications from loading on startup, I remember someone had created a "Dell Decrapifier" program to go through and delete all these useless apps.
