Is crack cheaper than coffee?

Every morning on my way to work I drive by Starbucks. It’s not as though I go out of my way to do so, it’s right at the intersection leaving my neighborhood; I have to pass right by it. And like Odysseus hearing the beautiful songs of the Sirens, it draws me in. At least once a week I succumb and stop for one of their frothy beverages.
Lately, because of the heat wave, I have been drinking their ‘Mocha Frappuccino® Light Blended Coffee’. At only 180 calories for the Grande size and at $3.50 a pop it’s like crack! In fact, I wonder if I just hit the crack pipe instead, if it wouldn’t be cheaper?
I’m addicted. And just like a crack dealer, Starbucks is on every corner just waiting to cure my fix.
I just did a little research on crack and it’s astonishing how much it sounds like my coffee habit. Here’s what one article has to say about crack, “Crack, the smokable form of cocaine, can be purchased for as little as $3-$10 a dose. This low price is of genuine concern because even youngsters can afford to buy the drug.”
>> $3 bucks, that’s cheaper than what I paid this morning at Starbucks!
“Since the drug brings on a rapid ‘high’ — followed by a profound ‘low,’ the user craves more to gain that euphoric effect.”
>> Yep, that too sounds like my coffee habit!
“Some users spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on their habit”
>> Heck, I even have a Starbucks card that I just refill from time-to-time
I want to close by giving a word of advice to all the kids out there. Don’t do drugs and run the hell away from Starbucks!

I’m amazed by the money that America (myself inlcuded) spends on coffee! Once upon a time, if you didn’t like straight, black, Foldgers you were SOL. Now that have all of these creamy, chocolaty, smooth drinks that you can drink all day. Hey, did someone say their making a Starbucks run?
